Get Started (For Managers on FXManager for FXTrade)

This page summarizes the most requested topics from the FXManager User's Guide for Managers.

Invite Clients

  • For instructions on how to set up an FXManager account and other requirements, go here.
  • For instructions on how to invite clients, set up the system for them and help them allocate funds to you, go here.

Accept Client Allocations

When a client allocates funds to you, they appear in the Allocations table (available from the FXManager interface when you click the Allocations tab). To accept the allocated funds, check the box beside the allocation and click Accept.

Charge Client Fees

For detailed information on applying fees, go to the Charge Fees section in the User Guide for Managers.

  • To charge a one-time fee to a client, select Account > Add Fee.
  • To charge fees to multiple clients or to bind clients to a schedule of one or more fees, select Account > Fee Schedules. (To see this menu choice, you must check the Advanced Fee Mode check box in Preferences > User Preferences.)

Fees deducted from your clients' accounts are placed in a separate fees account for you. To withdraw these fees from OANDA, use the FXTrade Cash Management System to transfer funds from this fees account to your principal account for withdrawal.

Reproportion Client Funds

You may need to extend or reduce the proportions of open positions held by individual clients, particularly when one client allocates additional funds or requests a fund withdrawal.

To find out about reproportioning, go to the Change Proportions section in the User Guide for Managers.

Return Client Funds

(For detailed instructions, go to the User Guide for Managers.)

  1. If you have opened positions on behalf of a client, you need to reproportion all open positions to close or reduce your client's open positions.
  2. You can see client numbers, names, and fund balances in the Clients table. (If you are returning all the client's funds, the Unrealized P/L column beside the client's name should contain 0. If not, you did not reproportion their open positions to 0.)
  3. Jot down the client's number and select Account > Return Client Funds. Select the client's number in the Return Client Funds window.
